HANDS OUT PROJECT : THE ADENTAN AND SHAI OSU-DOKU STORY
In other to quench their thirst of giving back to the community in which they serve, Adentan Municipal chapter of National Service Personnel Association better known as NASPA lead by its President, Robert Atsu Okor; who was heavily armoured by the Adentan Municipal Director of NSS and Adentan Municipal Education Directorate Circuit Supervisor today donated mathematical sets to some selected schools in the Municipality.
The schools included ICODHES 3 JHS, Victory Islamic JHS, Peace Academy JHS, St. Francis JHS, Sraha AdMA JHS, Belko Islamic JHS and Knowledge and Faith JHS.
The donation which began at 8am and ended half pass 12 witnessed same rhythm of jubilation amongst the ready but somehow tensed candidates.
According to them, our visit was eminent and timely since some of them had been contemplating as to how they were going to get mathematical sets before the commencement of the Basic Education Certificate Examination slated for 4th of June, 2018.
The team advised the candidates to give their all and not indulge in any form of examination malpractices.
The executives of the Shai Osudoku National service personnel association (SODNASPA) also made a donation to the B.E.C.E candidates in the Shai Osudoku district.
They visited the Tokpo circuit specifically. The executives made up of the Mr Theophilus Mintah, president, Miss Bridget Amemasor, secretary, Miss Vanessa Mensah, financial secretary and Mr Richard Antwi, Organiser, went to Agotor D/A Presby school, Huapa D/A basic, Agbekotseko D/A basic school, Tokpo R/C basic, Djorkpo D/A R/C and Ada-korpe D/A basic school.
The team led by the circuit director, Mr. Richard Addo and a representative from the National Centre for Civic Education (NCCE) distributed Mathematical sets to the B.E.C.E candidates in the mentioned schools. In all a total of ninety (90) mathematical sets were distributed.
The students were given bibles as well as other Christian literature to be used in the libraries.
The executives did not only give out the stationary, they also shared with the pupils words of encouragement. The headmaster of Agbekotsepo pleaded with them, that they talk on the issue of sex with the Juniour High School (J.H.S) pupils in his school. This was gladly done by the Executives.
Bishop, a committee member of the district assembly of the area also informed the pupils on scholarship opportunities the office has in store for those who will pass the B.E.C.E.
The head teachers and pupils of the various schools expressed their gratitude to the association.
Shai Osudoku district is the largest district in the Greater Accra region in terms of area size. The district has need for workforce especially in education and health care. As such national service personnel are usually posted to serve in these sectors.
